Durante el primer fin de semana de junio 2012 se llevará a cabo en Philadelphia el quinto Picnic anual de The Roots. Es una convivencia donde los asistentes pueden escuchar música de artistas como (además de The Roots): Wale, De La Soul, Kid Cudi, James Murphy, Diplo, Rakim, Major Lazer, TUNE-YARDS, St. Vincent, Flosstradamus, Shabazz Palaces, Starslinger y otros tantos.
El festival dura dos días y el abono para ambos cuesta un total de US$96 ya con cargos incluídos. Precio amigable y una selección de artistas coherente y que se antoja bastante.
Para quienes no vamos (y sospecho que quizá nadie de quienes nos leen van a asistir) nos queda la posibilidad de escuchar un mixtape gratuito inspirado por el evento. Es hecho por Low Beezy e incluye bastante música de muchos de los actos que van a participar en este 5th Annual Roots Picnic. No solo para escuchar sino también para descargar.
